Lead Forklift Operator

YOUR ROLE IN THE FAMILY:
The Forklift Lead exists to coordinate and support warehouse material handling activities while serving as the frontline lead for forklift operations. The role ensures the safe, accurate, and efficient movement of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods throughout the facility while supporting production, inventory control, receiving, and shipping objectives.
This position contributes to organizational success by maintaining uninterrupted material flow, promoting a strong safety culture, supporting inventory accuracy, and optimizing warehouse productivity. Through daily coordination of personnel and warehouse activities, the Forklift Lead helps ensure operational continuity and achievement of customer service, quality, and production goals.
Success in this role requires strong leadership, sound judgment, attention to detail, operational knowledge, effective communication skills, and the ability to coordinate resources and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR TO JOIN OUR FAMILY?
- Required: High School Diploma or GED.
- Required: 4+ years’ experience of forklift operation, warehouse, distribution, logistics, inventory control, or material handling experience within a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment.
- Required: Ability to obtain and maintain company forklift certification.
- Preferred: Associate degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
- Preferred: Previous lead, trainer, mentor, or team leadership experience.
- Preferred: Experience within food, beverage, consumer packaged goods, manufacturing, or distribution operations.
- Preferred: Experience with SAP, warehouse management systems, RF scanners, Zebra printers, and inventory management systems
- Preferred: Current forklift operator certification. OSHA safety training or warehouse safety certification.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating warehouse activities, inventory transactions, material movements, and workflow execution within a fast-paced operational environment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety requirements, GMP standards, food safety expectations, and operational procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through coaching, communication, operational discipline, and personal example.
- Ability to train, develop, and support forklift operators and warehouse personnel while promoting accountability and operational excellence.
- Ability to analyze operational issues and implement practical solutions that improve safety, quality, productivity, inventory accuracy, and service performance.
- Ability to work independently while supporting broader warehouse and logistics objectives.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in a high-speed food and beverage manufacturing environment.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling throughout the manufacturing facility.
- Ability to lift, move, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to ascend and descend stairs, work from ladders and elevated platforms, and maneuver around manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment including safety glasses, hearing protection, protective clothing, and safety footwear.
- Exposure to moving equipment, powered industrial vehicles, noise, varying temperatures, and warehouse traffic.
- Regular interaction with production and operational teams.
- Requires adherence to GMP, food safety, and workplace safety standards.
